Our Platelet Research group is looking for a postdoctoral research fellow beginning as of August 2023.
Your tasks
- You will work on research topics within our Platelet Research Group at the Center of Molecular Cardiology. Studies focus on platelets, megakaryocytes and endothelial cells in the ageing, their role in prothrombotic mechanisms, we analyse lipidomics including S1P, platelet receptors like GPIbalpha and GPVI; the effects of omega-3 fatty acids on platelet and endothelial cell structure and -function, mechanisms and reversal of aging processes in platelets and endothelial cells, coagulation and inflammation, inflammaging are topics of interest.
- Techniques involve basic biochemical tasks, cell culture, flow imaging, cardiovascular outcomes and animal models of stroke and myocardial dysfunction; basic platelet structure/function diagnostics, single cell omics analyses, transcriptome evaluations, silencing and increased expression techniques, fluorescence and electron microscopy in collaboration.
- Insights and collaborations in translational research in national cohorts of thromboembolism and atrial fibrillation.
Your qualifications
- Prior experience in basic experimental hematology or cardiology (incl. platelets) research, it is advantageous if you have worked with stroke or thrombosis-models. Experience in animal models, cell culture lab, in vitro thrombosis models desirable.
- Communication- and collaborative skills are essential.
